Shrink-wrap is created when molecules of plastics are forced into a polymer state during manufacturing.

Shrink-wrap is created when molecules of plastics are forced into a polymer state
during manufacturing. If you examine shrink-wrap under a microscopic, you will see
a series of long, thin molecules in neat rows. By applying heat to these thin rows
of polymer molecules, the molecules will begin to vibrate against one another, which causes them to return to their normal state. The once long, thin rows of polymer molecules twist tightly and tangle with each other, causing the shrinking effect.
